John Milobar (90 years young) known to many as ‘Junn’ passed away peacefully at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, NV on Tuesday December 6, 2022. Junn has been reunited with his wife of nearly 69 years, Alice Etcheverry Milobar.
Junn was born in McGill, NV on June 27, 1932 to the late Nick and Kate Milobar. He was very proud of his Croatian heritage which he passed along to his daughters and grandchildren. He grew up in McGill with his four siblings and graduated from White Pine High School in 1950 prior to starting his career in construction. Junn enjoyed “making the bacon” as he shared with his grandkids on his way to work. He started a long-time accounting career in construction with Isabell moving to H.M. Byars and ending his career at Contri Construction where he worked for over 20 years.

Junn and Alice raised their two daughters Vicki and Cheri in Reno, NV and resided in Henderson, NV since 2005.
Junn was the eternal jokester and known for being easy going and friendly with all. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his family you could find him playing pool, golfing, horseshoes or watching his 49ers. His horseshoe skills proved to be beneficial when pitching softball and learning corn hole. As much zest as he had for games, he loved his family dearly and they came first in his life. He was such a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather and picked up many names as life continued such as; Grandpa, Gramps and the most beloved, ‘Stari’.
Proceeded in death by his parents, beloved wife Alice, brother Nick ‘Neena’ (Elsie), sisters Rose McKinnon (Archie), Mary Shiro (Frank); brothers in law Albert, Jerry, Walt and sister-in-law Pat.
Survived by his brother Edward (Debbie); brother-in-law Shanty ‘GP’; sisters in law Liz, Loie and Dee; daughters Vicki Caviglia, Cheri Pescio (Joe), grandchildren; Justina Caviglia (Eric Friedlander), Tommy Caviglia (Allyson), Nicolai Caviglia (Kendall), Geno Pescio (Meghan), JaNon Welch (Robert), great grandchildren; Brennan, Keaton, Emerson, Scotti, Brooks Caviglia, Everett Friedlander, Benat and Leo Pescio and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a private service for Junn at a later date.
