Joe Rowley was born May 20, 1950 to Leon Desmond and Sarah Edith Rowley in Ely, Nevada. The family lived in Garrison, Utah until Joe was 11 years old. They moved to Ely where he attended East Ely Grade School and White Pine High School. Joe married Peggy Hofheins on February 21, 1970. They had two children, Tracy Jo and Casey Eric.
Joe worked for Kennecott until it shut down. The family moved to Orem, Utah where he attended Utah Technical College in Provo. He graduated as a heavy equipment mechanic. The family moved back to Ely where Joe worked for Amselco for 10 years, then various other mines until he was hired by NDOT. He worked there until he retired in 2017.

Joe loved hunting, fishing, wildlife watching and working on trucks. He enjoyed friendships with those he worked with and everyone he met. He loved spending time with his family.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy, brothers Jack Rowley, Larry Rowley, and Jay Rowley; and his niece Becky Rowley.
Joe is survived by his wife, daughter Tracy and son Casey (Candice), three grandchildren: Colten Clair, Melody Rowley, and Zachary Rowley, and several nieces and nephews.
Joe’s passing leaves a hole in our hearts and he will be missed as we leave him in the hands of a Higher Power to be taken care of.
At Joe’s request, there will be no services. He always did it his way.
