Hal Rodney Jensen Jr.

Rod graduated from White Pine High School and attended his earlier years of education in Ely and Rochester. He obtained his first CAT skinning job at the age of 14. He was a talented equipment operator and CAT skinner which took him throughout the state of Nevada. In his early years working with titans of the mining industry he gained a mastery of Nevada mining history and through those experiences he discovered his favorite place to be Hamilton Nevada.

He spent a number of years as a locomotive engineer for Nevada Northern Railway following the footsteps of his Grandfather Earl. One of his favorite memories was that of tearing the engine down for overhaul and finding EJ engraved on a part of engine #40.

Rod’s knowledge of most things mechanical knew no boundaries. On any given day he could be found in his shop working on his pride and joy, a 1957 Kenworth. He had a unique knowledge base and passion for antique mining and heavy equipment.

Rod had the ability to befriend most anyone. His humor and charm will be missed by many.

At his request, there will be no services.
