Barbara Ann Capello Lewis passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023, after a brief stay at the White Pine County Care Center. She was born Nov 22, 1933 in Caspian, Michigan to Alessandro and Angeline Pangrazzi Capello. Barbara would want it to be known she was a lifelong Democrat. She grew up in Northern Michigan where she graduated from Stambaugh High School. This is where she met and married Clyde Emmett Lewis of Iron River, Michigan on August 18, 1951. Together they had five boys David, Gary, Mark, Donny & Ricky. Clyde’s employment with Longyear Drilling Company brought them to the west. First, they moved to Missouri, then Arizona and finally Nevada settling in Ely in 1965. Barbara was always working to help support her family. She cleaned motels and worked in the Laundry industry for nearly 40 years where she worked for Troy Laundry Company, and the White Pine County Care Center. Some of her final words were “Who’s going to do the Laundry!” Barbara had a strong will and always had a way of getting her way. She was a staunch member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and dearly loved every new priest that came to the parish. In her later years her major enjoyments were visits from her
family, the mounting number of grandchildren, Saturday evening mass, where she looked forward to getting picked up and dropped off by a special Angel Judee Shaley. Another thing she never missed was going and hearing all the new gossip while at the beauty shop getting her hair done by her favorite hairdresser Kristie Rivera. She enjoyed keeping tabs on her nephews Michael and Bobby Capello, and niece Stephanie Brown who all reside in Reno, Nevada.

Barbara was preceded in Death by her mother and father, husband Clyde, three of her sons David, Gary & Donny Lewis. Her two Brothers Bob & David Capello and her two sisters Patsy & Theresa. She is survived by her sister Donna Capello, her 2 sons Mark & Ricky Lewis, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her special friend Bonnie for all of the help getting her errands done. Justin Ortiz for always shoveling her snow SO she could get out safely. All the people at Genesis Home Health for taking care of her. A special thank you to Keith & Paula Carson for always going over & above.
A Memorial and Rosary will be held at a later date. A Burial will also be done at a later date in upper Michigan at a family plot
