Morris Carpenter died peacefully at home on February 26, 2023 with his wife of 72 years and his great grandson Alex at his side. Morrie was born in Alhambra, California June 10, 1926 and was 96 years old.

He leaves behind his wife Virginia, son Richard (Gloria) their children Jessica (Tim) Peevy, Don (Selina) Mularz, Tim (Ambrel) Burnett, Paul (Melissa) Burnett and Heather (Jason) Rowley and 15 grandchildren, his daughter Tish Carpenter Smith, grandchildren Tammy (Cheryl) Cripps, Ken (Cinnamon) Smith and great grandchildren Ethan Cripps, Alex Cripps, Raven Pennington, Ryan Benson, Madison (Caleb) Parish, Slate Smith and Steel Smith, and great great grandchildren Haisly and Colt Parish and many nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He used his veteran benefits to attend John Muir college, working for the forest service in California and Montana as a wildland fire fighter. He then attended the University of Montana at Missoula where he met his future wife. They were married right before he was deployed to Korea.

When he returned from the war, Morrie and Virginia chose to live in Ruth and he began his career at KCC where he worked as a sample grabber, assayer and drill blast foreman. During KCC curtailments he went to work for Con Copper in Kimberly as an underground miner and then eventually as a security guard for BP when KCC shut down.

Virginia (Nan) is heartbroken, but will remain strong for her family and many, many friends. She invites you to join her for a Celebration of Life on June 10th in the Bianchi Park.
