It is with extreme sadness that we announce, Donna Yost, at the young age of 73, received her angel wings November 27, 2024 in Medford, Oregon, surrounded by the people that loved her.
She was known to her family as a “Princess Warrior”, as she fought many battles of cancer with strength, courage, dignity and as much grace as she could. She was always addressed as “mom” or “grandma”’, even to her children’s and grandchildren’s friends. Her love for family, blood relative or “adopted” through her love, came without conditions or questions. She loved being a mom and especially a grandma.
A few of mom’s fondest memories were spending holidays with her family and especially with her grandchildren. She loved cooking with her granddaughter, DanYell and talking about anything and everything with her grandson, Austin. She also loved her son-in-law(s), treating them no different than if they were her own children. Mom was a fabulous cook and artistic painter. Some of her other past-times included arts and crafts, going to yard sales and she loved watching old black and white western movies or shows.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Yost; daughters: Melissa (Michael, her son if you asked her) Pazera, Jody Gledhill and Trina (Craig) Anderson; grandchildren: Austin (Anna) Gledhill, DanYell Gledhill, Malique (adopted by love), Kanisha (Kenneth) Feliciano, Jessica (Cody) Harris, Cassidy (Ryan) Osuna; niece and nephew: Shelley Stratton and Steve Beimer; several great-grandchildren; grand-nephews and grand-niece, and several grand-furbabies.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Darrell and Betty Phillips; her sister: Barbara Wooten; her brother-in-law: David Hughes and several aunts and uncles.
Mom was such a beautiful loving mother, wife, sister and grandma. She was and always will be the rock of the family. We miss you and will forever love you to the moon and back, MaJaw.
A celebration of life will be held at the Oregon coast in the Spring of 2025.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to American Cancer Society, in care of, Hope Lodge of Salt Lake City. They are so amazing.
