David Eugene Gartrell age 92 passed away peacefully on January 28, 2023. He was born on September 26, 1930 to Sarah Elizabeth Gartrell in Greenville, Ohio. He spent his years in Ohio, Maryland, Tennessee, Arkansas, Colorado, Nevada and Arizona and made many friends along the way. As a very young man he did farming with his grandparents in Ohio, was later drafted into the US Army and stationed in Maryland and met his future bride Gladys Lovell. Over the course of many years they went all over the country looking for better jobs. In his later life he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for the mining industry until he finally retired in Nevada. Eventually he and his wife moved to Arizona. He loved to hunt, go rock hunting and being up in the mountains of Nevada in his beloved dune buggy.
David married Gladys Joe Lovell on September 8, 1953 in Mount Rainier Maryland and they had two daughters Roberta (Bobbie) Weighall and Peggy Gartrell

David is survived by his daughters Bobbie (Richard) Weighall Tonopah AZ Peggy Gartrell Hilo HI, Terry Winter Kansas , Granddaughter Amanda Tarango Jerome ID, Grandson Thomas Winter and Granddaughter Jennifer Winter both of Kansas. Great-grandchildren Sebastian Tarango, Alexandria Tarango and Tristan Tarango of Idaho. One great great granddaughter Caliope Tarango of Idaho. A niece Holly Ibarra Castine Ohio
David was preceded in death by his mother Sarah Elizabeth and his wife of 68 years Gladys Gartrell
David was interned at the Arizona National Memorial in Phoenix AZ on February 13, 2023
